Welcome to KEH-TECH

Hello, and welcome. I’m Karl, a Windows systems administrator, and KEH-TECH is a site I built for people like me: the ones who keep computers running and get the call when they don’t.

I have found over the years that the best work comes out of a good team. Not everyone has one. Some of us are the only IT person in the building, and some of us are just stuck on a problem at a bad time. The idea behind this site is simple: share what we know, and help each other out, without it costing anyone a fortune.

What is here today

How to get involved

  • Create a free account and introduce yourself in the General forum.
  • Ask something. If you are stuck, post it in Help. Describe what you see, what you have tried and any error codes. Someone else has the same problem and is not asking.
  • Answer something. If you know the fix, share it. And when your own problem gets solved, come back and say what did it.
  • Suggest a guide. If there is an article you wish existed, tell me through the contact form or in the forum.

A note for new members: your first few posts are held for a quick review before they appear. That is only there to keep spam out, and it goes away once a few of your posts are approved.

What is coming

More knowledge base articles, written from real problems and real fixes, and news posts when something happens that is worth your attention. The site is new, so it will grow in the direction its members take it. If you have an idea, I want to hear it.

You can read more about me and why I built this on the About page. The house rules are short and live in the Terms of Use: be civil, be helpful, and keep passwords and private details out of your posts.

Thanks for stopping by. Pull up a chair.
